Spit-up free zone

My latest fantastic discovery from the trenches of Newborn Motherhood.

Merino Wool Shirts for Infants

I am swimming in spit-up at this point and SO OVER changing Adrian's constantly drenched shirt. Of course all his baby clothes are 100% cotton and instantly wick the wetness throughout his shirt, then stay wet and clammy forever against his chest.

I was reading up on wool diaper covers and thought, "I need a wool SHIRT for this boy." Something that will stay warm and comfy even when wet, highly absorbent, anti-bacterial, breathable, stain-resistant, etc.

So I bought 3 of the above shirts and I am very pleased with them. Adrian wore his shirt all last night and all day today and it looked good as new. I just wiped the spit-up off him and the shirt stayed dry and comfy. He didn't smell all yogurty like he did after he spit up in his cotton clothes.

All in all, a great find. He is going to wear these suckers every day for a while.

Why not treat the reflux so it's less frequent? There's many options.

I have been treating it. He was on Zantac, I reduced his nursing time, I went dairy-free. He's just a very barfy kid. So was his brother.

Apart from spitting up, he's now having a drool-a-thon. Teething has begun. So even if he weren't spitting up, the drool is enough to drench any cotton shirt he wears. The wool shirts are FABULOUS for this, as they just never feel wet. He never gets clammy, rashy, or chilled from being in a wet shirt when he's wearing wool.

I just ordered more wool shirts in larger sizes from http://www.tinybirdorganics.com They are a few dollars more in price, but the shipping is way less expensive, as they are coming from Texas, not Canada.
